  • This is a great place to go on the weekends! You can bike, Rollerblade, skateboard, fish, some hiking and they have this huge tower you can climb that gives a great view of Mount Vernon. There are lots of pavilions so take a picnic lunch or supper along! Its a very big park. It's well kept and lots of fun!
  • With the opening of two new bike path bridges, it is possible to travel to foundation Park entirely by bike path from Gambier, Ohio. The bike path continues through the park and connects to Centerburg and beyond. The smokestack converted to observation tower was our highlight and is possible for a 4 year old. Note: The observation tower is closed for the winter (November 15 to April 15).
  • Really cool, new park about one hour from our house, the Grand Opening was on the Fourth of July, 2015. The grass and greenery is still all very new, but as the years go by everything will mature and the greenery will fill in and make the park even more beautiful. The old buildings & structures they left standing really help to establish the history of the site (an old PPG plate glass factory,) and the lake area is very nice, perfect for fishing from the bank or a picnic. One of the best things is that the whole thing is free! Hard to beat free.
  • It's very beatiful and the at the top of the tower it has a gorgeous view!!
  • I am so impressed and so proud that Mount Vernon has such a fabulous facility in our community. Ariel Foundation Park is like a mini Central Park in our lovely little city. There is so much green space, as well as interesting sculptures and structures. I'm never bored walking or riding around. And I love climbing up the smokestack. The opening ceremony and recent concerts have been great. How lucky we are!
