Such a beautiful area. Hiking, biking, kayaking, fishing, boating, swimming and so much more. Only disappointment...There is no Whiskeytown town.
Whiskeytown Lake and its surrounding protected woodlands can take you months to explore. I have been in Redding for 4 months and have not seen everything I wanted to see. If you are a hiker or mountai... read more »
I was there in July and the lake was still full! Popular beach area near where Brandy Creek enters the lake with a marina nearby. Gold mining history at Camden House and El Dorado mine/stamp mill (sho... read more »
Amazing views - town was flooded to build dam and apparently can scuba dive to see ruins. View is world class
Beautiful lake and parks. Came here 3 times in one week because it's so calm, clear and enjoyable for the family. Clean amenities and easy access, particularly to Brandy Creek beach. Has anyone noticed that the sand in the lake SHINES!?!
Whiskeytown Lake’s beautiful crystal-clear waters, surrounded by mountain peaks, are perhaps the most prominent feature of the park. However, water-based recreation is only a small part of what the park has to offer. The 39,000 acres surrounding the lake hold four waterfalls, pristine mountain creeks, 70 miles of trails, and opportunities to explore the history of the California Gold Rush.
My favorite lake in Northern California. Perfect for a 110 degree Redding day. Good for boating, swimming, or kayaking. Make sure to pay for a day pass or grab a year pass, and know it's going to be windy out on the water!
Beautiful area for recreation, swimming, boating, fishing and only a 15 min. drive from Redding.
