  • Interesting to see the conning tower of the Lewis and Clark as part of this exhibit. Gives you a great feel for how large the boomers that made up the third leg of the nuclear triad were.
  • It is worth a stop to, walk around, reflect, on the service, and sacrifice that these men made. While located in the Patriots Point area it is a separate site. It is FREE. This site is a tribute to th...  read more »

  • The Patriot's Point scout experience is really a lot of fun. I recommend the two nights plan, as it leaves a lot more time to explore the Yorktown. Also, I recommend not trying to do all the things that the experience allows, mainly because there really is so much to do here. That said, be aware that much of the interior areas of the ships are not air-conditioned. Thus, I strongly recommend taking a water bottle and refilling it as often as possible.
  • This place is amazing! Climbing up and down the ship is an experience you can't get anywhere. The price is definitely worth it, and we spent about 3 hours here. The submarine was also very cool, but harder to navigate through if you are over 6 foot.
  • Been here 6 times never gets old.I'am 52 but when I get on board I turn into a ten year old. Love the variety of planes ww2 vintage planes in the hanger deck and 1970s vintage on flight deck. If you go on the haunted tour at night you get to go places regular tour doesn't go like the forecastle or fo'c'sle where the ancor chains are stored. They also have a destroyer a submarine, & a replica of a Vietnam fire base, you can catch the ferry boat to Fort Sumpter and up the road is the confederate submarine the Hunley. You could visit this place 10 times and still see something new... You think I'am going again? You better believe it:)
  • Patriots Point is an amazing place to visit. There is a Vietnam type camp on the shore with several buildings and helicopters. Once you cross the bridge to the Yorktown, you can get lost in military history. The Yorktown is incredibly large. You can self guided tour nearly the entire ship. You can see all types of aircraft and a space capsule along with all the rooms sailors would have used throughout their journey. The Clamagore is a Submarine in front of the Yorktown. It is very quick to tour, but well worth the time. The Laffey is beside the Yorktown, take the time to watch the video in order to understand the bravery and sacrifice of the crew of this ship. There is a snack bar and a souvenir shop.
  • A great place for family time. Family time to learn about the places, people, and ships that have kept us free. The Medal of Honor museum is a must stop place. The stories contained there are uplifting and heart breaking. Please go see it.
