  • Let me start by saying, we did enjoy this stop, but if you try to calculate how much you'll spend off their website, there are little bits that aren't explained. The $5 pails are only that price if yo...  more »
  • Had a great family time here. Got there as soon as they opened. Went to the tailings area and found several small crystals. Went on the 9:30 trip to the mine. It was a lot of hard work but worth it. F...  more »

  • Stopped in to mine crystals today, 20 years after my last visit to this establishment. The experience was as rewarding as ever. Good crystals (including full, clear points) were easily found in abundance. Staff went out of their way to ensure all needs were taken care of. Prices were more than reasonable for what you can walk away with. Will never hunt quartz at another mine as long as Wegner's is there!
  • We had planned a trip to the diamond mine and found Wegner's along our route and just decided to try it out for fun. So glad we did!! By far the best part of our vacation. We stopped the day before heading south and had such a great experience with the ease of finding crystals in the trailings area. The staff are the nicest people ever! When given the choice to go diamond hunting a second day or back to the crystal mine there was a unanimous vote from myself and my 3 kids, ages 12, 8, and 4. They were an hour north of where we were staying and it was well worth the second trip. Then third time was a charm, we stopped by one more time on our way home to buy some of their rocks and crystals they have for sale. I would easily say the best experience I have ever had on a vacation. The staff is knowledgeable and the kindest people you will ever meet!!
  • The staff was very friendly and helpful. You can really tell that they have a passion for what they do. We had a lot of fun digging up the crystals, and then also doing the Gemstone Sluice. The quartz mine is through a beautiful forest, there are tons of crsytals, and the Sluice is in a field, next to a pretty pond, and there are cows! So cool! Amazing scenery. Fun day! They have a ton of beautiful rocks and minerals to buy--I bought a bag of Tiger's Eye, a pretty labradorite stone, and an amethyst key chain. Love all of it!
  • We had a great time looking for and finding quartz crystals! We were trying to decide between Wagner's or the diamond state park. We are all so glad we chose quartz hunting. My 3 grandchildren (10-5 yrs old) loved the bumpy ride to our dig location and searching for "Shiny things". They each brought home a big bucket of crystals. And were quite satisfied. I brought home a lot less but love each one I carried home. The workers helped us understand which stones were most valuable or special. For us, 2 hours was plenty of time, but a few Rockhounds stayed longer.
  • We went after it rained and there were crystals laying on top of the dirt in plain site. Compared to twin creek: this place is more for beginners with no tools needed (bucket and gloves were enough). Twin creek was more advanced where digging tools were recommended (& opportunity to find bigger crystals). For all ages. Very hospitable. Bring a dog treat for the on site "watch dogs" :) Shout out to our tour guide! I think his name was Lance? (Longer blonde hair) what a great stand up guy.
