  • I visited the store with a motor coach tour of 43 passengers. The primary interest of many of us was to use the "facilities". We quickly discovered that part of the historic charm was the need to use ...  read more »

  • I love going to the Old Country Store. My favorites are the "penny" candy and barrels of pickles. The whole store is a site to see. Lots of unique apparel and odds and ends. Too much to describe. A very unique place that is a must see!
  • This place has been the same since I was a kid (long time ago) and my kids like it as much as I did! As an adult I appreciate the penny candy; both the variety and price. I also love the museum upstairs but often end up there alone as the kids are less enthralled. That's ok, they will appreciate it when they are older! They appreciate plenty of the rest of it now anyway!
  • This is a place you simply must visit if your at Squam or Winnipesaukee. It's quirky and weird. Good place to find a silly souvenir or pick up some five and dime-type candy, soda, or maple flavored things. There's barrel pickles, sharp cheddar by the pound, old fashioned black strap molasses, any wrought iron thing you could want, kitchen tools and oddities galore. Prices are decent.
  • Love this place. We stop in every time we go to New Hampshire. They have so many cool things.
  • I visited this store a few years ago and bought a selection of quirky kitchen gadgets like the potato peeler I just have not seen anywhere else. Also got some soaps and of course maple candy! It was a lot of fun seeing this little piece of history. I live in Hawaii but next time in NH I'll probably be back!
