  • Go soon, it’s closing in September 2018, their lease is up and won’t be renewed. It’s been open 50 years. The owners run a gift shop too, they are relocating the gift shop down the street but can’t ge...  more »

  • Have made the mistake, and visited the Aquarium without before reading the reviews. Terrible! We regret to have paid the entrance fee, and even to have supported the company. Tiny enclosure (rather hole, 6m x 2m) for 5 sea lions. Tiny, Dim and completely barren aquariums.

  • I love this aquarium. My best childhood memories are at this aquarium. I took my children there twice and was so sad last time to see that they will be closing. We have driven from Sacramento to Morro Bay just to come to this aquarium and it is well worth it.
  • Great space to walk and learn. Published schedule of feedings to see all of the fish and sharks come out. Great explanation of various local species. Strong emphasis on small habitats and how they fit in to global structure.
  • It was fun feeding the fish, but I have to admit I wondered about their well being in the small tanks and "performing" all day. The tanks of fish inside didn't seem well maintained. A couple of the tanks had fish that appeared dead or close to dead. In general, it was very small and probably a nice stop for small children. I probably won't go back.
  • Great experience for all ages. Better get here soon, they are shutting down by the end of 2017 so progress can destroy another family owned business. Great people have been in this business for over 55byears.
  • This place is gross. Like, actually disgusting. How it's still open boggles my mind. You can hear the distressed cries of the seals from the streets. I visited once when I was younger, and these creatures have about a 10x10 foot concrete cell to call home. How anyone sees this as fun or entertaining is beyond me, these people just like to make money off of naive tourists and cruelty. If you want a better spot to see wildlife in a humane way, the seals are normally hanging out along the bay, the Rock is always a great place to spot them along with otters and marine birds! I would also recommend checking out the Morro Bay State Park. They have a natural history museum whose staff keeps tabs on wildlife activity in Morro Bay and will let you know the best places and times to view them. Dont give your money to this terrible place.
