Lake Crabtree County Park Reviews
This is a nice park with hiking trails, picnic areas (and a couple shelters), a boat house and kayak rentals, and some fishing areas. This is a nice spot for bird watching, especially in the winter. T... more »
My husband and I were looking for a place to do some easy hiking after traveling all day in the car. The hotel nearby suggested this park. Very nice walking/biking paths. Nice small lake. People were ... more »
It's been years since my husband and I took our boys here to run off some of their energy, and Wake County has made a lot of improvements to Lake Crabtree park. There are new playgrounds, kayaks and s... more »
The Lake Crabtree County Park gives ample recreational opportunities to visitors which has got 215 acre park, located in Morrisville, NC & conveniently located for Raleigh, Cary & Durham residents. It ha got garden, lake, trails, historic home-site, skill areas, fishing, playgrounds, boat launch, and other attractions. Its timings are 8 am to sunset and is open 24x7 except on Thanksgiving, Christmas day & eve and New Years Day. However, lake closes 1/2 hour before park closing. The Park has got ample designated space for parking. Follow park rules when visit. Overall good place to hang out with family and friends. Good to keep water and enough food stuff, if visiting with kids. Enjoy..
We've been frequenting this park for over 15 years. Nice relaxing place for a family picnic. Especially if you reserve one of the shelters with available charcoal grills in advance. The kids love the boat rides as well as the sand volleyball court and being able to safely ride their bikes. There are also a few rides, slides, etc.. for toddlers. The staff there is very friendly and do a great job keeping the place clean and hospitable.
Beautiful park located right in the heart of the triangle area. The park is surrounded by buildings and interstate but it doesn't seem to bother most visitors. Perfect place for group outings to play volleyball, picnic, hike, or do some mountain biking. Only reason for 3 stars is the marina staff which I can't emphasize enough thier lack of management and professionalism (more below). Great place to do some light off-road mountain biking. Lots of trials and routes that are fun for most beginner to intermediate skill levels. The marina staff is a pure embarrassment on the tax payers. Selection of marina rental options is good however availability and customer service is lacking. This is the only place in the triangle area to rent sailboats and they're rarely, if at all available. Typically they have two sailboats for rent and six sitting on the beach. When you ask one of the seven staff members, who are all sitting around goofing off, they give you a negative attitude back when you inquire about renting any of their sailboats, working or not. If this were an isolated occasion, I would brush it off, but this has happened to myself and other friends on numerous occasions throughout the summer. As a former marina manager from the coast, it's obviously the staff is sabotaging the water recreation program for thier own agenda. I've had other friends share similar experiences as well about the marina staff with only negative remarks. They have the opportunity to promote one of the greenest methods of recreation in a progressive area and they choose to sit around and be lazy. Those employees are wasting taxpayer money.
Beautiful park and lake. Has various kayaking, boating and sailing options. Also a great place to spend some time with the kids to have a fun picknic..
The mountain bike trails are superb. They have beginner trails with alternate jumps and loops. And they have an intermediate to Advanced trail that really tests your skills.
