  • Great hiking to view area hardwoods on the Old Beech Nature trail. Large trees too, some 100-ft high, Maple, SweetGum, Hop Hornbeam, Holly, Water Oaks (first time for me seeing these), Yellow Poplar, Black Birch, White Oak and of course the namesake probably, American Beech (a grand specimen at stop 20, 100-yr old the pamphlet says)which has a great color this time of year Nov. 6th. All within first 1000-ft of trail. They have a kinda neat thing called a tree wheel. Spin it, note the marked tree, and read about. There is a stop describing an old sawmill sight which ceased operation in the 1940's, placing my visit at 70 years since. So some of these are old growth for some species. Truly spiritual.
  • Nice place for a short time hangout with family, carry food njoy eating. Do take a left turn on the signal half a mile prior to map's end point.
  • Our family has been here many times for group activities with the kids or just a quiet day of sun and fishing for the adults. You can bike, hike, fish, play volleyball, fly kites, or even rent a boat. Just don't eat the fish from the lake.
  • Great trails for walking and biking. Nice views of the lake. Great maps so you don't get lost. Also, swimming is not allowed because of some chemicals that were dumped in the lake a while back.
  • Went here for my church's 4th of July cookout. Very nice park, with great scenery and decently priced boat rentals. I saw some renovation going on, so things can only get better for the future! Definitely wanna visit here again and I enjoyed my time moreso than Jordan Lake.
