(1.8/5 based on 480+ reviews on the web)
The lakeside Indiana Beach Amusement Resort opened its first thrill ride in 1927 and has expanded into a full-scale amusement park over the years. In addition to the thrill rides, a water park helps visitors keep cool on hot days. Check out the daily water-ski show on Lake Shafer, where great feats, including a water-ski pyramid, have been performed since 1959. Tickets for the thrill rides and water park can be bought separately or together. Additional tickets are required for the water-ski show and parking. • I love amusement parks and try to visit several outside my area every summer. I've been on the biggest coasters in the biggest parks with all the bells and whistles, yet my favorite are the classic, o...  more »
  • I grew up going to Indiana Beach, so I remember what it used to be. It's never been a place with huge, daredevil rides. It's never been glamorous (honestly it always had a bit of a carnival feel to me...  more »

  • I've been coming to this place almost every year since I was a little kid. I absolutely love the nostalgic feel every time I visit, and of course, their delicious tacos. I came back a few months ago and the new owners really gave this place a good face-lift. The park has never looked better! All of the rides were running, there were tons of maintenance staff walking around and cleaning up, the park had a nice fresh paint job and they also had beautiful potted plants all over the place. I was so proud of how nice the park looked! I can't wait to return next year and eventually bring my future children and show them one of my favorite amusement parks of all time. I love this place so much and I hope they never close or go out of business!
  • Great place for young families! Staff is friendly and definitely working hard to make your time enjoyable. My nieces and nephews loved the roller coasters and other rides. My brother and myself enjoyed the water park. There is always room for improvement, and it is obvious that staff is working everyday to better the park. Ticket prices are not bad. And it's definitely nice that you're not getting ripped off on food prices within the park.
  • I loved this place as a child. It would probably qualify as my "childhood happy place". After over 30 years of fun and memories, I struggle with giving such a poor review. I took my family to Indiana beach towards the end of the August 2015, and "disappointed" barely scratches the surface in describing that visit. Paint was peeling everywhere. There was trash everywhere. The beach was closed. Over half of the food vendors were closed. Most of the rides in kiddyland were unattended, and there were only two employees operating the area. I visited the administration office (the Guest Services Office was open, but completely unattended), and they took my information to mail passes for a return visit to "Make things right". In July of 2016 we returned (a two hour drive for my family). The gate attendant looked at our passes and informed us the new owners had decided not to honor any of them, using the response "those are from the old owners and were only good for last year". After roughly a half hour of being talked down to by the teenagers running the guest service office I was able to get in touch with the manager on duty. When I was able to show her the postmark on the envelope the passes were mailed in (dated about two weeks after the close of the 2015 season), she begrudgingly issued new passes. Aside from the park falling into a state of general disrepair, the customer service is AWFUL. I had to, on several occasions, make employees get up from sitting together talking at the picnic shelter to operate rides for children. The attendants refused to help children in and out of the rides, and on several occasions didn't bother to make sure the kiddos were all strapped in. At one point I had to intervene in an employee operating the Kiddy Autos spouting racial slurs at a large family. Get it together, Apex Parks Group... If you're going to charge King's Island-level prices, you have to provide King's Island-level service. The ridiculous rise in prices would have been better used to facilitate a cosmetic facelift for the park, as opposed to fancy bar-code activated turnstiles. A fresh coat of paint and employees who don't seem to hate their job go a long way. HOLIDAY WORLD, HERE WE COME!
  • My family and I had a really fun time. Everything was up and running and there was no smell from the lake/water at all. However, the water park had an issue which was at the pool area which was very slick as you go out towards the center and my son and I almost fell. They also need more seats in the beach area but it was also a hot crowded Saturday. The staff were nice and not rude at all. I would love to go back. It was nice and we had fun.
  • Our family has been here twice this year.... fantastic time over the fourth of July (4 stars). However this last weekend (Sunday labor day weekend)not good. The entire place was incredibly understaffed. Waiting close to an hour just to get the entry and ride bands. They were running a special if you pay full price, you can get next years 1 year pass for free. But (#1)you have to go to the customer service building. No problem, except there were only 2 working, the line wait was long, about an hour to hour and a half to be served. Disappointing, however we were there for the rides and to have fun. But (#2) on this day, only half of the rides were running because they had no one to man the ones they had closed. I my opinion, If your going to ding me for full price ($39.00 each) per person, for ride and admittance , I don't think that it is asking too much to have access to all of the rides, and staff the park so that it is convenient and service friendly to the patrons.
