  • This house housed the Fitzgerald's as a couple for about 1-1/2 years, its in Zelda's hometown, the site contains mostly correspondences back and forth among the couple and their friends, some of Zelda...  more »
  • Thought I knew a little about the Fitzgerald's but this showed a gap in my knowledge - hadn't known about their Montgomery time but for anyone who has read The Great Gatsby and other works, this is a ...  more »
  • A fascinating look at the lives of the Fitzgeralds that reveals them as human beings, not just famous people. Plus, the young woman who runs the museum is great! -- very knowledgeable and available fo...  more »

  • So Scott and Zelda only lived here for a month... had I known that I wouldn't have even come out to this museum. Alas, when we arrived there was a sign on the door stating that the museum would be closed for an hour (the place was only open for 4 hours...) and even after that hour was up no one opened the door for us. We saw the crappy garden out back, the placard was rather funny as Zelda's quote implied that she didn't like Alabama but was content until she was able to move somewhere more interesting.
  • This little treasure is tucked away in a seemingly random corner of a Montgomery neighborhood near ASU, but you should take the time to find it and visit. I never knew a ton about Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald, but it seems like their lives were remarkably similar to the characters in The Great Gatsby. They only lived in this house for a few months, but the museum provides a wealth of information and artifacts about their lives.
  • It's one of the most secluded and iconic pieces of literary history..I visited there many years ago while attending school at ASU. Truly a hidden treasure....I didnt realize I had walked into my piece of history,I mean I didnt even know Ms. Zelda was from ,Montgomery Ala. It pays to pay attention and by learning to read so that you be in the kmow of history.
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the Fitzgerald Museum and House. Miss Powell (The Museum and House's Executive Director) greeted every guest and chatted with them about the house and Fitzgeralds as well, despite being busy with preparations for Zelda Fitzgerald Day (25 July 2017). For its age the house is in rather good condition, any repairs have kept in line with the time period of the house. The museum holds many family photos, letters, news clippings and personal works of art by Zelda along with telling the story of Scott and Zelda. It was a very well laid out and informative look into the Fitzgerald's personal lives. The museum runs on donations, they do accept debit and credit cards as ways to give donations. If you find yourself in Montgomery with time to spare, the Scott and Zelda Fitzgerald Museum and House is well worth the time. Admission is free but the museum runs on donations. They accept debit and credit cards along with cash.
  • It was a great trip. The museum was filled with very interesting and personal items which really inform visitors of their lives. The curator was also very helpful and courteous ...a must see for literary folks!!!
