  • Alabama Old Town it is a kind of open air museum, located near the center of Montgomery. At the visitor center welcomed us a funny and very nice lady (as with all places Montgomery) who explained how and what to visit also advising where to go then to eat and what else to see in the city. The Museum consists of 3 blocks where there are old houses and buildings of the past. The Museum seems a bit neglected but it's still nice to get into the old structures of the past. How to make a blast from the past. If you're visiting all you must dedicate at least 2/3 hours. Recommend a visit.

  • The tour was ok. The school house actor and the lady that spun her own cotton were just on point, loved them. However the gift shop has removed ALL Confederate flag bearing items. Regardless of if you like it or not Alabama was part of the Confederacy for almost 5 years. That is an integral part of Alabama history. Hiding the history does not change it.
  • there are 2 areas - one reflecting the living - the other reflecting working in Alabamas past. You can stroll around and visit e.g. the tavern, doctors, practice, grocery, school, cotton gin or drugstore.
  • Went for the Montgomery Book Festival. Was a fantastic and free experience with authors of all kinds and food trucks. Ontop of that, it was free!
  • Great field trip for elementary school aged students. Awesome with 1st grade students.
  • Old Alabama Town is a great visit for any history enthusiast. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and has an excellent knowledge of how early Southern life was like. It is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon catching up on history.
