  • The Monterey location is closed for good and that is really sad. We loved that place and it wasn't too bad of a drive from the Bay area. Any reason is good to go visit Monterey but Ventana's tasting r...  read more »
  • We stopped here on our way out of Monterey. The grounds are lovely but we were hoping to be able to "stroll the winery" a little more. Both staff members were helping another group when we arrived, so...  read more »

  • The somalia is fabulous!!!
  • Free tastings, great wine. We visited when family came to town. Very friendly hosts tought us a lot about wine. Lots of wine open for tasting, we picnicked on their sunny patio. I recommend the Rubystone!
  • If you happen to be making a trek during a weekend, seriously consider stopping by Ventana's tasting room west of the Soledad / Greenfield area towards Arroyo Seco. I didn't want to just go back north to the Bay Area using 101 one day and saw Ventana's interesting sign when using River Road G17 instead. I'm so glad to have discovered their many reds this way, and find their main tasting room in Monterey even easier to get to. For variety, I love their Tempranillo, Grenache and Pinot Noir.
  • We had a great time here. Richard, the Tasting Host, was excellent. He did a "how to taste wine" introduction, and did a great job. The wine was good as well, best of the day in fact. We were in the wine trolley, going on to the wineries of Carmel. Good wine, great host. Enjoy.
