A coastal trail with access to major local attractions, Monterey Peninsula Recreational Trail offers miles of ocean views. The 28.9 km (18 mi) trail, which runs along the former tracks of the Southern Pacific railroad, is shared by bicyclists, rollerbladers, and walkers. You can rent bicycles and surreys, or quadricycles. Keep a lookout for wildlife along the way, such as otters, seals, sea lions, and birds.   • It's a lovely ballad has do walk or bike to see seals and if your are lucky thing whales who don't have us not come but worth the walk the place allows to have magnificent ocean views

  • We walked on this trail from cannery row to lover's point. It was a nice, easy walk with beautiful water views. We saw seals and sea otters. This would be great on a bike as you could go much further....  read more »
  • This is a must-d activity in Monterey : hire a bike and cycle along the coastal trail. The views are lovely.
