  • I shoot a lot of photos at Jack's Peak Park. Its easy for my clients and has stunning views. The weather can be warm but not too warm since the ocean is really close by. If the day is clear then you w...  more »
  • We love to hike so didn't hesitate to visit Jack's Peak on an afternoon "off." We hiked the Skyline Trail which is quick and easy and good for all levels. The views were amazing! There was no one at t...  more »
  • I Googled hiking trails in Monterey and this was the first one on the list. It was fun to go to the mountains rather than just the beach on a trip to Monterey and it was only 15 min. from downtown. Th...  more »

  • Nice quiet park just south of Monterey. It takes some winding roads to get to the top. Great views for looking out over Monterey Bay. Trails are pretty easy, but not much to view along the way.
  • Excellent hiking trails near Monterey airport with vistas overlooking Monterey Bay.
  • Hidden gem! Pretty quiet area with several well marked trails. There's even a sign warning you about poison oat. Not overrun by tourists. Guard at the gate was super friendly. Great for families.
  • Jack's Peak Park provides great views of the Monterey Bay, as well as some nice clean forest air. It's a short but very uphill hike or walk from Monterey. The only reason I don't provide 5 stars is that it has no bicycle racks. It has always shocked me that a town with so many bicycle events and a great trail does not have racks at its natural parks. They could install a rack and a basic tool set (pump, multi-tool) for less than $1,000.
  • Gorgeous views of both Monterey Bay and Carmel Valley. The skyline trail was an easy hike for kids.
