  • A great place for ALL ages......
  • I went back in time when I visit Museum Village
  • Museum Village is a little gem nestled in the hills of Southern Orange County – Monroe, NY. It is a living history museum where interpreters bring 19th century rural existence to life. There are several buildings that represent a school, blacksmith shop, broom maker, pharmacy and a natural history building which houses the skeletal remains of a Mastodon! This is a great place for both kids and adults, with an amazing amount of artifacts and items to see. On weekends throughout the spring and summer months are special events - a circus, cars shows, Fire Fighters Day where departments around Orange County display new and old engines, and a weekend-long Civil War event complete with reenactors and a battle between the Union and Conferderate armies. There is a beautiful oval lawn with benches surrounded by sugar Maples and a snack bar for a light lunch. I’ve visited often, and each time I do I discover a little part of history I never knew existed. A must see!
  • Museum Village provided the Monroe Rotary a venue for the Taste of Monroe Scholarship fundraiser. Museum Village is a fine educational center.
