  • This zoo is in a horrible neighborhood and the habitats are basically the same as they were 30 years ago. I know the staff tries but if the city would get them a better location more people would visi...  read more »
  • This place was great: it was clean, it was affordable, not hard to find, staff was friendly and the animals behaved themselves lol. It's a self guided tour so you get to go on your own pace as fast or...  read more »

  • Been to a lot of zoos, and this one is my favorite. It's quaint and a little run down, but the animals look good and seem happy. They have some beautiful cats and a number of different primates. The staff are all friendly. Something special happens every time we go.
  • Ok let me start by saying this zoo is absolutely amazing the animal are all very well cared for and the park was very clean but the habitats need some work as they are all very old. The splash pad made us all feel like kids again and they put the animals so close to you that you almost feel like you can walk up and grab one tho i would strongly recommend that you don't as that is very dangerous not only to yourself and people around you but also to the animals. If you are in the area i would definitely say this is a must see zoo you will definitely remember this as one of the best zoo's you've ever been to and at 4.50 a person its a real steal. WE ARE MOST DEFINITELY COMING BACK.
  • Limited by acreage and what appears to be local corporate sponsorship, this zoo really has done a nice job. The grounds and gardens are beautiful, the boat ride is likewise beautiful and truly unique among zoos, really a Louisiana treasure. The splash pad and petting zoo are great recent additions. Yes some of the exhibits need some TLC, but it is a great local spot, and I wonder why there is not more corporate sponsorship from Century Link, St. Francis, etc.
  • I loved it all the animals were see able loved the monkeys they were my favorite. Very nice little zoo. Will most definitely come again :)
  • It's getting back better but it's sad to see it needs more funding as we'll. Also I can't believe how people could put more money into others. Instead of keeping our animals healthy, alive and giving our kids somewhere to visit. To learn about animals and enjoy themselves while their visting at the Louisiana Purchase Garden & Zoo. But I still love and support my zoo always.
