  • I recently hired DownDay to take us out for a Walleye fishing trip for my son's graduation present. Captain Robb was extremely friendly and professional and his boat was clean and well maintained. We went out for an afternoon trip and we all caught our limit. I would recommend DownDay to anyone and intend to use Captain Robb again in the future. Cheers!
  • We've never left without our limit after a day on the water with Capt. Robb. Our family has had much success on the water with DownDay and will continue to use the charter service ourselves and have recommended to many others interested along the years. Can't wait until our next walleye trip!
  • If your looking for an affordable and fun day out on the water chasing perch, catfish or walleye, look no further than DownDay Charters. Captain Robb is our first choice for charters in the state of Michigan. Every trip we have made has been a huge success. He knows the lake very well and works hard to put your group on fish. His boat is always clean and is the perfect size to accommodate your group of 6. Rods and reels are well kept and ready to go as soon as the anchor is down. He is patient for those who are new to fishing or less experienced. His rates are great for those who can't afford the big cost of the larger boats. We look forward to every trip we take, knowing Robb is there for us to make our trip great.
  • Capt Rob is a great charter capt. He works hard to get you in good position on the fish and knows where they move with the weather patterns . We caught our walleye limit with four guys in about 5 hours in murky water from rain the day before.
  • Well, I have to say that Robb needs a lot of work, and a little bit to learn. Robb showed up about 10 minutes prior to departure (not early to prepare his boat or check sea-worthiness). After a quick check of his boat, it was determined that there was a possible broken seal due to fishing line caught in the prop the night before. I do not fault him for that. What I do fault him for is his lack of professionalism. He did not greet his guests at all, he looked sloppy in appearance and demeanor. His boat looked like it hasn't been cleaned in 2 years, and while his customers were waiting for him to fix his boat, he failed to contact them to update on progress. His webpage/Facebook pages are a mess with mis-spellings and grammatical errors, and his recent Walleye Catches are not comparable to other Charters. (I will add that he appears to be a hell of a Perch fisherman though) My overall take on Robb is that he is doing this as a side-job, and this is something that needs more attention than part-time. I am Hoping this experience will make him a better businessman, fisherman, and he can flourish in the future. At this time, he just "doesn't have it".
