  • Definitely a must see to go down into the mine. Amazing the conditions that people used to work in. Recommend taking flashlights as they are not provided with the tour. Lots of bats to see also. Make ...  more »
  • Wasn't the most exciting thing we did in copper harbor bit was worth the adventure. Self guided tour. Rough terrain and steps. Still fun to explore
  • Okaaayyy.....so if you've never been in a mine you'll think it's pretty cool. You do get to see some slopes and adits and a car and tools, etc. However!! You may not know enough to think much about th...  more »

  • The Delaware Mine was an...experience? In short, I'm glad I went, but I don't think I'd go again. You arrive, pay your fee, watch a 10 minute video and grab a hard hat. Then you descend 100 steps into the VERY dimly lit mine - they even have a picnic area once you get down there, though I'm not sure you would be able to see your food. There are some placards to explain what you're looking at as you walk down the tunnel and back. What really got us, though (I went with my mom), were the BATS. I saw one swoop by at the beginning, but it was no big deal since the ceiling was so high at that point. Further down the tunnel, the ceiling came down to about 10ft and we paused for a second. We could hear MANY bats at that point, just above our heads. Needless to say, we booked it out of there! Also, the owner has two pet skunks - Oreo and Snickers - which was an experience in itself!
  • Very cool self guided tour that gives a look back to the industries of Michigan in the 1800's. There are also the ruins of the buildings which used to pump water out of the mines and supply compressed air underground. Well worth the stop if you are in the area.
  • Well organized. Focused on the history and not all about the gift shop.
  • It's a really cool experience to see all that history. We got to bring our dogs.
  • Wasn't bad, But the old fart that runs the place is a very angry old man.. Needs to retire.
