  • This is the best rock shop in all of Utah. They have a night time table outside, for your browsing and it works on the honor system. What a concept these days. They have a huge selection and just about any kind of fossil you can imagine. Inside they have really large fossil and geodes, some of the largest I've seen. I always stop to pick up a good luck charm and we gone one some trails to are way off the road with no negative consequences, I believe it's the magic of Moab. Overall stop Everytime you go through. I love this shop
  • Good selection of local and international rocks and fossils. The founder was a renowned fossil hound and entrepreneur. The prices for nicer pieces are a bit inflated. Probably a Moab effect. That being said there are nice budget items to be had as well. Particularly some of the casts from dinosaur fossils found by Mr. Ottersteen himself. Some of the pieces there are museum grade and not for sale. They add to the stop value at this shop. All in all. Recommended.
  • This place has an amazing collection of rocks and fossils I have never seen before. All labelled in sections so you can find what you are looking for. The staff are helpful. Also this place is more reasonable on price than at swanky stores in Sedona AZ.
  • What a great place! You'll find fossils, rocks, gems and even meteorites priced anywhere from $1 to $25. Hundreds of pieces to look at so take your time and have fun.
  • If you’re a rock hound or love checking out fossils this is a great place to check out. I usually stop in when I am down in the area. Great place to bring your kids give it a shot

Where to stay in Moab

For affordable accommodations away from tourist crowds, stay outside Moab's busy downtown. Many inns in this area offer free shuttle services to the central part of town, allowing you quick and easy access to Moab's finest shops and restaurants. If you do not plan to spend much time in your room, consider staying at a budget-friendly motel or hostel. For the ultimate in outdoorsy options, campgrounds inside the area's national parks make up what they lack in modern amenities with their panoramic views of the red desert.
