Corona Arch, Moab
(4.9/5 based on 650+ reviews on the web)
Noteworthy Corona Arch, a natural sandstone formation, is the main attraction of the Corona Arch Trail. Along the 2.4 km (1.5 mi) trail, you'll pass Bowtie Arch and Goldbar Arch before reaching the culmination of the trail at Corona Arch. Here you can admire and photograph the towering red formation, formed by countless years of erosion, and a colorful canyon. Though much of the hike is fairly easy, you will have to ascend a ladder and use a safety cable in one area. Wear sun protection, as there is very little shade along the way, or consider an early morning or early evening hike to the arch. Put Corona Arch on your schedule, and learn what else deserves a visit by using our Moab holiday planner.

  • I have hiked out to this arch multiple times on various trips and you usually have the place to yourself due to the moderate, short hike and the distance your have to drive from town. Well worth a tri...  more »
  • Not far from Moab this arch for the early morning, is advisable since it first still not so hot is and secondly in the morning is the best light. The hike goes about 2 hours and back (4 km) and there are about 150 meters to overcome. The route is marked with Cairns, but at times quite difficult. Who is not non-slip, you can get problems. In some places, railings and ladders help the advancement. Before the Corona arch, you can see even the bow tie arch. Go see the Corona arch through to the other side, from there he looks slightly different but also very impressive!

  • This Corona arch is located outside the National Park and is easily accessible. A nearly half-hour hike takes you there. He strongly reminiscent of the Rainbow arch at Lake Powell and is formidable in its dimensions. A must when visiting Moab.

  • One of my most amazing hikes I've taken! It's just something about being there when the sun rises and no one else is around.
  • What a great hike! Beautiful and a bit challenging. Will definitely get the heart going.
  • Beautiful views! The hike was about 5 miles round trip, though there's 1 spot that was super scary and my boyfriend went on. I only did 2 miles. You get some great views, it is not nearly as crowded as the NP, it is free and you see 3 arches! The Utah state website suggested it and it was worth it!
  • Out of this world and truly spectacular place, you have to see it with your own eyes to truly appreciate the full granger of Corona Arch.
  • Easy hike, fun place to be less crowded than delicate arch
