  • This is a wonderful park to see birds and native wildlife. I tired to walk the trails, but June in Texas is very hot. They do have a tram that runs about every hour and takes you to the main highlighted bird/wildlife spots. Next visit I'm going to do that. Also they are a few areas for a picnic lunch with some nice shade.
  • Beautiful park, great for birding and going on a nature walk. Clean info center with gift shop and a very nice staff, willing to share information about the park and it's many inhabitants. The hawk tower is really great for getting a good view of the valley. On-site primitive camping.
  • Love cycling here in the mornings. Lots of wildlife!
  • This is a fabulous state park in the Valley. Several years ago it was closed to motorized vehicles. So, it is great for walking and biking and seeing a most amazing array of birds. There is a tram that you can ride through the park if you are not inclined to walk the whole thing. Birds include the ubiquitous green jay, chachalacas, altamira orioles, olive sparrows, clay colored thrush, gray hawks, ladder back wood peckers, golden fronted wood peckers, white winged, mourning, and inca doves. And many more! You can also see bobcat and javelinas regulary. There is no camping in the park (except some walk in camping which might not be available this year) but there are several wonderful rv parks close by, including the highly rated Bentsen Palm Village.
  • Love to go on the park to see the butterfly👌✌
