  • By the time we visited in mid May they had stopped maintaining the feeding stations but there were still a variety of birds around. Be prepared for the hot weather and stay hydrated.  more »

  • What a nice park. There was lots of wildlife and good walking/biking paths. A nice little visitor's center too - with bathrooms.  more »

  • I like doing some of the trails, they're short distance maybe 1-2 miles. Nice to just be outdoors! It does get hot, pack you water to stay hydrated. :) There's also a resaca (oxbow) where people go fishing too for alligator gar. Since its a state park you don't need a fishing license. The fishing spots are not super comfy. We saw some with kayaks for fishing.
  • Large number of police and border patrol, park removed the bird feeders and stopped feeding weeks before the migration ended and didn't inform me they did before I paid to get in. Staff has a "I don't care " attitude. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.
  • Good state park for walking and watching birds. Unfortunately as a state park yo need to pay for walking inside. There is also bike rental there.
  • We rented bicycles and rode the three miles around the state park. We seen a few birds at a bird blind. We also saw a javelina. Nice gift shop but a little pricey.
  • Great park! It has bike trails, hiking trails, primitive camping sites, and of course amazing bird watching spots!
