  • The museum is on the base, so you must show your ID. There are a lot of tanks and helicopters on display, and some vehicles can be on top. In Japan, military goods can only be viewed from a distance, but it is a lot of fun here because you can touch and ride them. We thank the US military for contributing to the world's peacekeeping.

  • This place is a GEM! Anyone who has any interest in military history must visit this place. I passed by it on my way up north and planned to spend an hour there on my way back. I spent 4 hours there and could have stayed longer!! They need more room, I might have missed some stuff wandering between rooms. This is a great place to take kids who have relatives who were in wars. I spent an hour alone in the room for Vietnam and Korea reading the short stories of vets, it really brought home what they went through. Stop here, you will not be disappointed!!!
  • It was awesome. Drove by this place for years and never stopped. Everyone super friendly. Loved looking at all the equipment, especially the High 48 troop and horse train transport car from WWI as appreciation from France.
  • So much history represented here. You could spend over an hour looking at the displays inside. There are vehicle/aircraft displays outside as well as a library and a latrine exhibit. I went in the winter and that was closed.
  • Very good would recommend. Will go again. Very interesting for people studying Minnesota based wars.
  • It is on a military base. To gain access a guard will require your ID. The museum is primarily oriented around soldiers and the things they had (uniforms, firearms, kit, medals, etc.). Medals in display cabinets, one large room full of various firearms, uniforms, a great WWI display, some Indian wars and Fort Ripley displays, civil war, Iraq, Vietnam, Korea, WWII. Note that if you are claustrophobic you will be uncomfortable: no windows, 1 door, and a meandering maze of interconnected rooms full of 7' display cabinets in an 9' building. The outside has many tanks, helicopters, and vehicles (which i enjoyed more than the museum).
