4.7/5 based on 1,300+ reviews on the web
Meander among manicured lawns and forests overlooking the Mississippi River at Minnehaha Park, one of Minneapolis's oldest parks. Visit the site's famous 16m (53 ft) waterfall, and enjoy a picnic in one of the many areas available. You can take a trail that leads from the upper falls all the way down to the river and appreciate elm, silver maple, and oak trees along the way. Don't forget to check out the Longfellow House Visitor Center, which houses a small collection of historical photographs and provides useful information on the area and its history. • Great place to go walk along the river and see the waterfall. Also the sea salt restaurant and playground are nice. Always very busy, parking can be an issue. We love visiting the park.
  • I make it a point to stop by this park every couple of weeks. It is an oasis in the middle of the metro area. The Falls are always a great view, especially after a good rain or in the winter time with...  read more »
  • I was amazed how close we were to the falls from where we parked. There was some fall color and still a lot of green the second weekend of October. We were not sure how far it was to the confluence so...  read more »
  • Wonderful place to visit with waterfall, stream, a nice (Sea Salt) restaurant with a wide selection of local beers and fresh food. I love their fried fish basket. It is delicious with fresh melon and coleslaw....Delish...You can rent bicycle buggies for lack of a better name. Pedal yourself and up to three more people to fitness. Nice trails meander along a lovely stream. If warm enough, you and your children can take a splash on a small shallow area designated for taking a dip.
  • I wish this gem were still hidden. It's normally rough parking and crowds everywhere you go. Nonetheless, Beautiful green space in a bustling city.
  • This is a great scenic park for bike rides, hiking, and sight-seeing. Trails are abundant and the water falls are among the greatest sights in Minnesota! This is a must-see when near the metro area! Seafood restaurant on site.
  • This is one of my most favorite places. Sea Salt's food is amazing, so much to do here. View the beautiful falls, walk the trail from the falls to the river. Lounge in the middle water feature. I LOVE THIS PLACE.
  • Great place to bring the family. Lots of things to do and see. On the weekend you can find great food trucks to eat at.
