  • Got to meet Caitlin Doughty, the keynote speaker at the Convening: An Artful Death event! It was a great exhibit that taught about death in other cultures and brought many aspects of death into conversation and acceptance. I only wish events like this were more common! Could also use more parking for visitors.
  • I can spend hours in this place. If you are on a budget, it's free (but if you can, you should donate). Great date spot if your looking for something to do before a late dinner or on a weekend. Hours are somewhat restrictive so you may need to plan around when they are open. Broad mix of styles and mediums. Modern sculptures, classical oil paintings, furniture, suits of armor, full rooms from homes that were relocated to the museum, this list goes on... They also have devices that act like virtual tour guides and explain details of artwork. Very interesting place overall and a great feature of our community.
  • World class art, beautiful facility, located oddly enough in a fairly residential district. Admission is donation based, truly. That is, there is nobody barring your entrance until you make a donation, as is the case in other museums. Some rotating exhibits charge admission, however, as is common. I didn't leave nearly enough time for my first visit. Planning to return many times. Worth a trip to Minneapolis for this alone.
  • I love visiting art museums in every city I visit, but I am always glad that I have the MIA in my hometown. It’s free to visit and has such a great collection of art! It’s not too big or overwhelming either. I thoroughly enjoy visiting MIA whenever I get a chance!
  • Second time I've visited the MIA, and I enjoyed it even more this time. It is absolutely worth setting aside about 3 or 4 hours to spend here. It will give you an appropriate amount of time to appreciate the exhibits. They are exhaustively thorough! I love it.
