I routinely go to farmers markets wherever I am, but this one is close to the top of the list. The variety is great - some prepared foods - like dumplings which were yummy, fresh flowers, breads, clot...  more »

This is a fun atmosphere and fun to see all the goods out for sale. We got some cucumbers that went horribly bad within 24 hours, but I don't hold it against the market. Also a great place to watch pe...  more »

This year we visited on a weekday. It was very different, much easier to park (we parked much closer), and much better for using a stroller (there are ramps in the center of each row). Large bunches o...  more »

My love and to-go place for local food and produce. I always make an effort to come early on Saturdays to get some fresh vegetables, fruits and food! I love their brats [been eating it ever since I was a kid]. Their roast corns, cinnamon rolls and fresh lemonade/orange juice. Try out their food stalls. It's placed all over the farmers market so save your stomach!

This is not only the best farmers market in the Twin Cities but one of the best in the country. I used to come here weekly when I lived in the Twin Cities and proudly came back for a visit while in town. I appreciate that there are some food stalls and a couple Goods. But that the focus is on Fresh Produce. The Hmong farmers really bring a lot to this Market with amazing fresh vegetables they have

Such a great farmer's Market! It has everything. There's official roofs and structures here so most of the places are safe in the rain (and I've been here during a downpour, without getting too wet except when I ran to the car). There's all types of food here and even some places that are grilling and cooking delicious foods to try. There's also another section after all the food stuff for crafts and clothing that is also great to check out. Most of the food is very cheap and delicious. Plants are beautiful and also very cheap. I highly recommend it! I visit it multiple times throughout the summer. Parking is difficult.

Produce variety is going to depend on the season/time of year. Some vendors obviously buy their produce to sell here (pineapple grown in Minnesota? sure...) Nonetheless, great place to buy produce on the cheap. Prices are pretty standard from vendor to vendor, so you don't need to really worry about price comparing. Fun place to take kids, and plenty to see besides corn.

There's nothing farmer like about this place. To be honest this market turned into a huge yuppie tourist trap over the past five years. All the fruits and vegetables are clearly from the same warehouse. And the flowers are double the price of any nursery. And half the space is dedicated to small trinkets and nick nacks. Most people that go here are non locals. So good luck.

Where to stay in Minneapolis

To stay in the thick of tourist action, choose a hotel in downtown Minneapolis. This area offers many independent and chain hotels, with rooms that range from budget-friendly to high-end. You can also stay close to the area by exploring mid-range hotels just a few blocks from downtown that are set in quieter neighborhoods with fewer tourists. If you have access to a car and don't mind driving to most major attractions, you can consider a good value motel or inn just outside the city.
