  • After many years, I invested in new skates. Brought them along during a Milwaukee visit and went for a nice skate again. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed every visit. Check ahead for open s...  more »

  • I was here for a half marathon. The facility looks awesome and the national speed skating team was there training. Lots of room on the ice with two rinks, ice oval, and a 3 lane track around that. Ple...  more »

  • Cool place! Olympic skater train there. BIG ice surface! You don't get a good feel for how big it is from watching skating events on TV. inside the outer ring are TWO full size hockey rinks. One star off because open public skating hours are limited. Fun to go watch trading though and see how big it is.
  • Saw the US speed skating Olympic trials here over the weekend. Awesome experience to watch a race for the first time. If you want a good seat (for this kind of event) get here as soon as doors open.
  • Took my daughter to the Pettit for the first time. Just wanted to thank Jonathan for helping us learn to balance and ice skate for the first time. Good parking, fair prices and they have a concession booth for snacks. Ice was well maintained and the overall experience was a blast! We will be back soon!!
  • Family friendly with a competitive edge. Take the kids for a skate. This place will open the door to let you push yourself as far and fast as you can go.
  • It's a nice facility, parking is plentiful. Heard nothing but bad things about the hockey leagues there, but there are plenty of other events that are awesome. Neat place for indoor running training during the winter.

Where to stay in Milwaukee

Staying in the city center puts you right in the heart of the activity, and means you can take advantage of all the things to do in Milwaukee’s walkable downtown area. Options here include big chain hotels as well as quirky inns. Party animals should sacrifice some sleep to stay close to Milwaukee’s lively bar scene, centered around Water Street. Those who want a little more rest should consider a scenic resort in the greater Milwaukee area; many of these are within easy driving distance of the main attractions.
