  • After many years, I invested in new skates. Brought them along during a Milwaukee visit and went for a nice skate again. I've been here a few times and have enjoyed every visit. Check ahead for open s...  more »

  • This facility is starting to show it's age but it's a great place to get your summer ice skating fix. The rentals a very very broken in so I would recommend you bring your own skates
  • Ice is always well maintained. I would like to see more stockhandling opportunities. But overall, a solid place to skate
  • Great skating experience for the entire family. The large rink allows the speed demons to fly by without worrying about hitting someone!
  • Open ice skating is pretty nice, the staff are friendly and helpful especially to beginners. Hockey leagues are pretty cool too.
  • My wife and I went on an afternoon date to the Pettit National Ice Center and had a good time. Neither of us had been skating in a while, so we braced ourselves for a rough outing - but in the end, we really enjoyed ourselves. We liked the layout of ice skating the speed skating circuit rather than just in a rink. When we needed breaks, there was plenty of seating to adjust our skates and sit and watch others. Also, there were synchronized skating practices and children's hockey games playing, which were also entertaining to witness as the Zamboni cleared off the ice for 20-30min. Easy check-in and check-out with skate rentals - be sure to bring quarters if you want to store a purse or other items in a locker near the rink!

Where to stay in Milwaukee

Staying in the city center puts you right in the heart of the activity, and means you can take advantage of all the things to do in Milwaukee’s walkable downtown area. Options here include big chain hotels as well as quirky inns. Party animals should sacrifice some sleep to stay close to Milwaukee’s lively bar scene, centered around Water Street. Those who want a little more rest should consider a scenic resort in the greater Milwaukee area; many of these are within easy driving distance of the main attractions.
