Where to stay in Milwaukee

Staying in the city center puts you right in the heart of the activity, and means you can take advantage of all the things to do in Milwaukee’s walkable downtown area. Options here include big chain hotels as well as quirky inns. Party animals should sacrifice some sleep to stay close to Milwaukee’s lively bar scene, centered around Water Street. Those who want a little more rest should consider a scenic resort in the greater Milwaukee area; many of these are within easy driving distance of the main attractions.

  • Marquette has a small, modern campus interspersed among city streets. It has many conveniences within walking distance as well as direct lines to Brewers games. It is not a destination by itself and i...  more »
  • OK, to be fair, I went to Marquette. So did my wife and my 2 daughters. And my brother. And many of my best friends. Why did we all go there? In large part because of the commitment to education, fami...  more »

  • As much as I love my undergrad school because I was able to be drunk every single day and get a 3.0 GPA, it's just not a good deal on education. My attendance on average for any given class was less than 30%. I'm not sure how I earned a degree. I feel students pay WAY too much for attending this private school. The law school is also WAY over priced. If you want a college degree, spend your money wisely and go to an in-state public school.
  • I decided to transfer. Minimal funding for the humanities, so if your want to major in English, philosophy, history, etc maybe consider transferring for the sake of your education. I'm not exaggerating either- some of the adjuncts who work here have even told me to do this. The student body and some of the staff are incredibly arrogant, rude, and competitive. You will be stereotyped based off of where you come from- especially if you are from Illinois. I found that the people here don't try and get to know you for who you really are, even considering the fact that both you and them ended up at the same university. When I told my advisor I was planning on transferring, he scoffed and told me "Transfer wherever the h*** you want, my commission won't be affected" and then proceeded to tell me he had no clue how the transfer process worked, scoffed at me again, and told me "good luck". The dorm food is low quality, and to eat healthy you basically have to risk your life by crossing an on-ramp to the highway to get to Straz aka the dorm with the healthy food. There isn't much to do in the college town, and Milwaukee is a lot further away and more unsafe to get to than how the brochures portray it.

  • This is a terrible school that doesn't tolerate any views from conservative perspectives. This is another joke of an institute that has lost its mind and is ruled by political correctness and it's poisen.
  • Best network I have ever seen. I was in the business college (Accounting and Finance) and had multiple competitive offers well before I graduated. The education, professors, amount of things to do, and placement office are top notch. It costs a lot, but the results speak for themselves. I now have access to a network that rivals or exceeds anything I have seen. If you get the chance and you are in a business area, you should seriously go here.
