  • Milwaukee got it right when they took a piece of land along the lake, but under the expressway, and turned it into a multi-stage park. It hosts Summerfest, the largest music festival in the world, at ...  more »

  • I've attended Summerfest every year of my life (30). In the past 5 years, the improvements to the grounds have been remarkable. The Summerfest grounds are well designed and well maintained. I would challenge you to find another place in the country that can hold 100,000+ and have as efficient of restrooms as this place.
  • Great festival grounds. Summerfest is always a blast, and the ethnic festivals are great as well. Lots of awesome music and food. Oh yeah and beer.
  • Summerfest 2016 This was our first time and we had an amazing time. It is a great festival with music choices for everyone. We saw only the shows on the festival stages, we did not buy addnl tickets to shows in amphitheater, and there were still more bands than we could see. Plus, there are comedy stages, children's stages, magic acts, something for everyone.
  • Its all about who u want to see. If the band u like is playing, and its at a free stage; go see them up close. If it isnt at the Marcus Amphitheater, where u pay for tickets, get there early and stay for the show u wanna see. Summerfest is awesome for the free stages, but they draw the big acts at the Marcus. Summerfest always brings great talent to the non pay stages. It just depends on what your flavor is.
  • Milwaukee's lakefront festival grounds is home to more than just SummerFest. My photos are from GermanFest, but there are dozens of ethnic and themed festivals here throughout the year. Well I'm not sure about winter :-)
