  • Prime Hook is perfect for a quiet hike. It is a well-kept area with several walking paths. A great place to visit for hikes a various lengths.
  • The beach here is for the dogs, really. Dogs can go off leash year round and they love it. Spent a long weekend at Prime Hook Beach and the girls had a ball. The Refuge is vast, a kayak heaven and jus...  more »
  • There are a couple of nice scenic trails that are easy to walk. Like any wildlife refuge, it depends on the cooperation of the wildlife. I did see a couple of herons and common loons, not much else. T...  more »

  • This place is great, lots of walking trails and a driving tour. The beach on the south side is very nice.
  • If you're in the area, this is a must see for wildlife viewing! Near the HQ are a few trails and a boat/kayak launch. Go beyond the Visitor's Center and see some of the marshes while you're there. I love the peacefulness and calm of this refuge!
  • Very nice walks in and around a tidal salt marsh, the half-mile boardwalk trail leads out over wetland with a long boardwalk that leads out into the marshland and past a revolutionary period cemetery.
  • Inexpensive, clean, friendly staff at boat - kayak launch. Good for a one day adventure. Plenty of picnic tables. Would recommend if on a budget.
  • Great little off the grid place, not a lot of tourists here
