  • Stopped by to do some apple picking and quickly learned the pickings were slim:( Not sure if the weather played any part of it but there were a lot of apples on the ground. More than I have ever seen ...  read more »
  • Took my parents and my 5 year old on a Sunday after church. We had never been and didn't know what to expect. It wasn't terribly crowded and we were initially set back by the $12.50 admission price. O...  read more »
  • We go at least once a year to get apples, pumpkins and such. The play area is great for the kids and we also enjoy riding in the wagons.
  • Great family fun! Apples in season September 3. Jonathan, some Golden Delicious, and Red Delicious. Place empty on Labour Day weekend.
  • A great place to take the family or a date. Being able to pick your own apples/pumpkins is always fun.
  • I've been there twice for pumpkin picking, though haven't been out to hand pick them and the last time we didn't even get one, but had a great time mostly for all the other entertainment. Great for the kids.
  • It can get quite expensive. Pony rides 5$, animal feed .25 , old carrots in a cup 1$, apples1.79/lb. 2 adults and 1 toddler after all the above and Kettle corn - 85.00 plus the cost of gas to get there. . Would only do it again for my grandchildren.
  • Every year, Eckerts seems to go downhill just a little more as they get more and more commercialized. It used to be fun and had a 'quaint country charm' to it but not anymore. Their grocery store used to be like an old time general store, now it's pretty much like any other large, overpriced grocery. The restaurant service, prices, and value have all degraded, especially in the past few years. Part of the charm of Eckerts is the 'pick your own' opportunity but this year, peaches were not available EXCEPT in their store. All in all, the disappointment factor with Eckerts rises every year and we have been going numerous times a years for decades. I think 2014 will end that tradition. It's just not fun anymore nor a good value.
