3.8/5 based on 260+ reviews on the web
Offering seemingly endless opportunities for exploring and general adventure, Silver Sands State Park features long stretches of beaches, sand dunes, salt marshes, and woods. The park was established following the 1955 hurricane that destroyed many local homes. Come for the swimming, hiking, and bird watching, and stay for the picnicking spots and long walks. The water is clear and warm, offering nature lovers a clear window into the world of seashells and schools of fish. A bird sanctuary makes up part of the park, and is the rumored home of Captain Kidd's buried treasure.
