This definitely one of the more popular state parks and it is easy to see why. Lots of room to spend the night or day. The campground seems a bit tighter than some, but the day use areas are extra nice. They have a new playground and lots of picnics areas, trails to walk, and a beach that is is very popular with a nice bathhouse. The place is usually jammed packed in the summer, which tells you people go here for a reason.

Such a fun park! The water is very cold, of course--it's a spring-fed mountain lake, what do you expect--but it's great on a hot day. The trails are a lot of fun, too. For a nice stroll in the woods, I recommend the Rapid Run Nature Trail. For something slightly harder but still very doable for inexperienced hikers, you can make a nice loop (it's probably a little over 2 miles but I'm not sure) out of the Boiling Springs Trail and the Overlook Trail. Also, definitely stop by the Environmental Learning Center! Even if it's closed, they have pamphlets outside that you can grab.

I've been visiting this park for 40 years now. Picnics, camping, class trips, winter festivals, cycling and hot days on the cool beach. The park is clean, has easy to follow trails, accessible picnic areas, a clean snack bar, and a well maintained campground. A park that serves the public well and is a key ingredient to a great day out with friends and family.

Great place for taking a hike with many different trail options. Or a nice sand beach and swimming area. Has trails for all skill levels and biking trails too. Camping area as well.

Great for biking, running, family picnicking and swimming if you don't mind the chilly spring fed lake.
