  • Always some people there so you aren't alone. A good way to exercise your dog too! Plenty of parking.
  • This is a great place to walk your family or your family pets. My dog LOVES coming here. My mother and I come pretty frequently to get some outdoor time for the pup. Lots of ducks and geese live here,...  more »

  • This park has so much to offer...a lake, tons of wildlife and interesting historical facts. It makes me feel a little more connected to my community and how it became what it is. The paths are maintained at the level of excellent and I can't say enough about how great this park is.
  • Clean, well maintained park. Great walking/biking/running trails. Cool mine replica at the new part of the park visible on Woolridge Rd and some ruins exist back in the woods across the street. A tunnel under Woolridge can get you there safely.
  • The lake is beautiful which attracts varieties of waterfowl. The lake has an asphalt path around it which is perfect for jogging. Across the road in the park are excellent hiking trails which pass through an entrance of an old mine shaft.
  • Massive pond with all kinds of wildlife. My children love to feed the geese and ducks.
  • Antebellum plantation next to one of the first coal mines in the colonies now is a county park preserving the local wildlife.
