Chrysalis Vineyards Reviews
We stopped in and the place was loud, both downstairs and upstairs you could barely hear each other. The lady that provided us with our tasting was not very friendly, she was annoyed or could tell tha... more »
We had never been to a wine tasting so while visiting Middleburg thought we would do this. Their website made it easy to understand and follow directions and their policies. Went on Friday afternoon a... more »
Foi uma experiência desagradável visitar esta vinícola. A moça que nos atendeu era completamente despreparada e servia uma miséria de vinho na degustação. Era tão pouco que chegava a ser ridículo. Besides all the wines served were awful. I've never had such bad wines. For all this to avoid this Winery. Not worth paying $15 to make bad wine and be treated poorly.
Was invited by a member to do a wine tasting while she picked up her wine. Brought our kids as they had no school today. Did our tasting while the kids ate their lunch outside. The kids asked if they could explore the property and we were told by staff that was fine if they did not bother anyone. We were stopped by other patrons to tell us how well behaved our children were. Staff member Jeremy ran out and berated my friend, who is actually a member, to yell that our kids were outside approved bounds. She immediately went to get the kids and gave them new boundaries to stay inside. Again Jeremy ran out and yelled the kids aren't allowed OFF THE LAWN and other wineries don't allow kids at all. My friend canceled her membership which didn't seem to bother Jeremy in the least. Wine is average or below to begin with. I wouldn't be willingly chasing members off with so much competition in the area. Nice day that Jeremy almost ruined. He needs customer service classes but too late to get me to join or get my friend back. My advice, pick somewhere else. Plenty of amazing wineries in the area. Can't believe any of the 5 star reviews are real.
Greatest bluff ever!!! Be very careful NOT to sign up for the so-called VIP club only based upon the sales staff’s explanation... make sure you read the conditions as you sing up for a monthly wine purchase of approx $60/month - which the sales staff did not mention to us... The customer service has been a very bad experience afterwards!!! We will not go visit this winery again!
If the review was purely based off of the wine, I would give it five stars. The wine is delicious however the customer service is absolutely terrible. The first time I went there with a friend, we had to wait at the front nobody showed us where to go so we finally mozied our way to the bar and a lady gave us our glasses and made us wait on her son and his girlfriend. They chatted the entire time and completely ruined the tasting experience. She would pour her sons glass first and the tasting took at least 45 minutes. She poorly explained the wine club so we purchased it and come to find out was not what we expected so we asked for a refund. Didn't get a call from a manager until about a month later. The second time I went with a different friend and the customer service was even more terrible if you can imagine that. Waited for at least 10 to 15 minutes for someone to even get our attention to serve us. The lady behind the bar said she was out of it because she was on pain meds?? The whole experience was really bizarre. You definitely need an overhaul on your employees and customer service. It's unfortunate because the views in the wine are really good but nothing else.
Love that Chrysalis strays from the traditional wines to offer a truly unique experience. Great wines, beautiful location, and very friendly staff!
Today we went to chrysalis and our tasting host, Chase, talked for about 40-50mins, most of it was impertinent information about the taste of the wine. It was a mixture of his personal experiences and things the winery would like to build out on the property. The tasting started off on an awkward note when chase made a comment about being in a fraternity for opera singers, which felt as if he was attempting to make a joke about homosexuality. We all felt uncomfortable. In the middle of the tasting and at the end he pressured everybody to sign up for a membership, holding us until past the point the cashiers were serving glasses or opening bottles. We were informed after we had already purchased a bottle, which was very disappointing. We have been to this winery before and it has never been an issue, but this time left a bad taste. Due to Chase's tasting, we are unsure if we will come back.
