#5 of 6 in Zoos & Aquariums in Miami
Watch Java monkeys dive into pools to fetch a snack from a guide's hand at Monkey Jungle. The Java monkey troop was introduced into the area in 1933 and thrived in the mangrove swamps. This troop and the other 30 species of primates now roam freely among the trees. Catch sight of their playful swinging and curious exploring as you walk through the protected area. • In a scorching heat, aided by the Green where you are immersed, leisurely stroll in a corridor protected with monkeys around you and accepting the food that you offer. I did not like, the experience with primates (gorillas and orangutans) that I found sad tending to transform into show the approach with these poor animals.

  • This place allows the animals to have the majority of the space, and the visitors (us) to walk around and observe them in their natural habitat. They've saved many of the animals, namely -King the sil...  more »
  • Explore monkey jungle. Where humans are caged in the monkeys run wild! This sounds to me very well and was also the only reason why I said to visit this park. In Germany, I know the monkey mountain Salem and I've imagined here then also something in the way. In part this is also quite right, because there is a long corridor of the cage where the people go and around are the monkeys in a fairly spacious enclosures and can move really "free". Unfortunately it does not recognize in the manner of course, how big the area of animals is indeed. Well, Yes, but not all animal are "free". There are also very many monkeys living in very small cages. The aviaries of the birds offer hardly trajectories. Orang utans are solitary, although as pack animals are Gorilla but. The art of the show position by a "show" of the Gorilla's I found now not so great. But after all, the silver back could turn to just us back, if he didn't want more on the spectacle. Total make the animals and plant has a clean and healthy, sometimes even a happy impression. This also causes that I here round up to 3 stars. Nevertheless I would, that you only humanely and in large enough enclosures keeps the animals, or just certain animals better omitted.

  • It's a nice half day activity. They sell boxes of raisins for feeding the monkeys. My 3 year old loved it.
  • Great experience with family. Entrance is more expensive than the zoo but its less than half the size. Animals seem to be happy and well fed.
  • I been here a couple times. I love that the monkeys are so close to you that you could touch their hands and fingers. The also have raisins you could buy for 75 cents to feed the monkeys which makes the experience even better. The only reason I don't give it 5 starts it's because I wish it was bigger and had more exhibits.
  • - Amazing place for the kids and adults too ! - Have a close experience with the monkeys and feed them - staff was great and provided a lot of new information and facts - Free Parking
  • Awesome! You get to interact with the monkeys @the guides are very good at informing you about the monkeys @answer all questions! Great place to visit

Where to stay in Miami

Miami's South Beach boasts one of the largest collections of boutique hotels in the country. Though it can be quite expensive, staying in this area ensures proximity to the city's best shoreline, clubs, shopping, and restaurants, not to mention Art Deco buildings. Mid-Beach and downtown also make great places to stay, offering some superb apartment rentals and small hotels, though the neighborhoods are not as glamorous as South Beach. If you're traveling on a budget, avoid the high season during winter months. If money is no object, get a room with a view before it gets too hot along the famous stretch of Collins Avenue between 15th and 23rd Street.
