Mary Brickell Village, Miami

3.8
#11 of 15 in Shopping in Miami
Located on the second level of the Mary Brickell Village. Taverna Opa offers the combination of great food and celebration. With its authentic Greek flavorings and only the best selected meats and freshest of seafood. Taverna Opa created a new meaning for the concept of dining. A different approach that energizes and gives the diner a different dimension for his or her entertainment. Previous dining norms are broken, spirits are lifted, with every single broken plate and every single napkin in the air.

  • Being accommodated in a nearby hotel, we had planned to go to the Mary Brickell Village in the light of the opinion read on trip Advisor. We went one afternoon for a refreshing snack but were disappointed with the place. There is nothing special to do: a few bars, little signs, a tattoo artist and the restaurants offering a card out of prices. We went back one night for dinner at PF Chang's, restaurant of Asian specialties at an acceptable price/quality ratio. Otherwise, the place has that little interest, we only stayed only 15 minutes and pushed to the Mall Brickell.

  • We come here often to watch football (soccer) matches at Fado's, which is a sprawling pub with extensive indoor and outdoor seating options and simply the tastiest pub food imaginable... Every potato ...  more »
  • Mary Brickell Village is a nice spot to walk to just south of downtown Miami. It has a lot of restaurants and shopping for fun. To me, the shopping is a little on the high side for what they sell but ...  more »

  • This place is beautiful. It's surrounded by skyscrapers, awesome restaurants and decor. The outdoor areas were very clean and well-lit. I will definitely be going here more often.
  • At the time of my visit, it is “peak shopping” at The Shops. Nearly every or all of the space is leased with an abundant choice of restaurants and retail shops, with new construction everywhere. But as one of my dinner companions noted, “This is trying to hard to invoke Manhattan. And is not Manhattan.”
  • Nice place. Lots of thing to do. Bars and restaurant! Clean and organized!
  • Pleasant family atmosphere, great place for a few drinks, food and entertaiment. I attended the Greek festival there recently. Great fun. Street parking is limited. May have to drive around to find available space.
  • Great place, open air layout and awesome variety of restaurants - if you can only go to one, Rosa Mexicana is incredible. But a very happening little spot that is right next to Brickell and manages to be trendy without being pretentious, which is not exactly common in a high society metropolitan business district like Brickell.

Where to stay in Miami

Miami's South Beach boasts one of the largest collections of boutique hotels in the country. Though it can be quite expensive, staying in this area ensures proximity to the city's best shoreline, clubs, shopping, and restaurants, not to mention Art Deco buildings. Mid-Beach and downtown also make great places to stay, offering some superb apartment rentals and small hotels, though the neighborhoods are not as glamorous as South Beach. If you're traveling on a budget, avoid the high season during winter months. If money is no object, get a room with a view before it gets too hot along the famous stretch of Collins Avenue between 15th and 23rd Street.
