Bayfront Park, Miami

4.3
#4 of 16 in Parks in Miami
Nature / Park
An urban waterfront site, Bayfront Park covers 13 hectares (32 acres) of downtown Miami. The park features a beach area, rock garden, waterfalls, monuments, sculptures, and an amphitheater. Famed sculptor Isamu Noguchi designed the park in 1980 and included three of his sculptures: the Slide Mantra, the Challenger Memorial, and the Light Tower. Amble along the boardwalk for views of the waterfront, or explore the paths within the park for close-up views of Noguchi's sculptures. Find the plaque marking the spot where Franklin D. Roosevelt avoided a possible assassination attempt in 1933, which claimed the life of Chicago's mayor, Anton Cermak. Where to stay in Miami

Miami's South Beach boasts one of the largest collections of boutique hotels in the country. Though it can be quite expensive, staying in this area ensures proximity to the city's best shoreline, clubs, shopping, and restaurants, not to mention Art Deco buildings. Mid-Beach and downtown also make great places to stay, offering some superb apartment rentals and small hotels, though the neighborhoods are not as glamorous as South Beach. If you're traveling on a budget, avoid the high season during winter months. If money is no object, get a room with a view before it gets too hot along the famous stretch of Collins Avenue between 15th and 23rd Street.

  • Bayfront Park has a calendar so you can check out upcoming events. There are some classes like yoga and capoeira in the park. Sometimes they have big events which means the park won't be accessible without a ticket to that event or even accessible a few days before and after. It's a great outdoor space for large events and shopping and ports are nearby. Great pictures on the water. Must experience for events and non events because it's a totally different experience every time.
  • Wish I could have spent more time here...or better yet....live in one if the condos. Loved it.
  • Such a nice area with convenient food and shopping nearby. The live music is good too and it is within walking distance of the cruise terminals.
  • Excellent place to spent an evening. Many choices for food, live music and great view.
  • Nice place to take family visiting from out of town. Live music, restaurants, shops and lots more.
