Miami Beach Botanical Garden, Miami Beach

(4.1/5 based on 550+ reviews on the web)
Escape the bustle and glitz of South Beach at the tranquil Miami Beach Botanical Garden. Although stretching barely over a hectare (2.6 acres), this urban retreat packs an impressive range of colorful native plants, a Japanese garden, wetland area, and plenty of palm trees for shade. The botanical garden not only serves as a peaceful oasis where locals and visitors can sit, stroll, and enjoy the flora, but it also hosts a number of cultural events. Those particularly interested in local botany should opt for a guided tour. Visit the on-site shop to purchase some of the featured flowers. • Like most other reviewers, we visited these small gardens because they are next to the excellent Holocaust Memorial (a must see). Not very much there to be honest. Would have been very tranquil, but t...  more »
  • We went here after having visited the Holocaust memorial. It's a very small garden, but we saw many beautiful plants and many animals (butterflies, small lizards, large lizards, turtles, parrots in the trees, two giant iguanas in a different tree, cats ...) Quiet and beautiful, well worth a visit.

  • Took us a while to work out how to get here, as there's loads of building work going on, and roads closed. Once we got there,we were very happy that we made the effort. It's only a small park, but the...  more »

  • quaint little place for some photo ops. best part is its free. don't expect to be wowed too much. although beautiful, nothing compared to other more popular places like viscaya or fairchilds
  • Nice lil park in the middle of the city. Very beautiful with ponds and many shady spots. Great friendly welcoming management too.
  • A lovely garden with plenty of interesting plants. I was shown around by a very friendly lady called Martha and got to see iguanas, parrots, a heron, butterflies, turtles and fish.
  • Beautiful place. Great for weddings
  • This place is fairly small and a little way out (at least it felt like it in the heat!) but it is beautifully maintained and full of lovely wildlife like a beautiful coy pond, huge butterflies and lizards. It made a nice change of scenery for us as we were travelling through Miami Beach
