Lafreniere Park Reviews
We visited Lafreniere Park on our recent trip to New Orleans. It is an amazing place to connect with nature and a great place to relax. The park opens at 5AM with gates closing at 9:45PM. You are able... more »
Overall: They have free concerts from time to time and the Christmas lights are a wonderful family tradition. The carousel, lake, ball fields, and profusion of trails have lots to offer. more »
The light show is wonderful. You may walk through and see the sights. Most of the time the weather is wonderful. more »
Though it isn't as big as City Park in New Orleans it is the biggest park in Metairie. There are lots of activities available such as a 2 mile long jogging path, fishing, sporting fields for soccer and baseball, feeding the ducks and other birds, etc. There's even a championship Frisbee golf course. During the holiday season there's a drive through display of Christmas decorations including the ones that used to be displayed at Al Copeland's residence. Lots of festivals during the year with fireworks during the Fourth of July.
Beautiful park that's well maintained. There are trails throughout and ponds offering opportunities to feed the ducks. Parking is easy. If you are not careful you can end up spending an entire day here. The ducks are kinda cute too.
Probably one of the best Dog Parks in the metro area. It has two spaces which includes an area just for small dogs, but also has a large area for all dogs to run and play and a paved walking track inside the park area. Lafreniere also has a great disc golf course with 24 holes.
I love this park but it needs more landscaping. More shelter for families cheering on their loved ones during soccer games. More recycling bins and bathrooms.
Love visiting Lafreniere Park. It's beautiful. Lots of activities. Visit it with the kids or stop by and have lunch alone overlooking the water. Feed the ducks too. Nice lights right now.
