  • Natural unspoiled beauty at its best. Look out for gators, lots of birds and other wildlife. Bring your camera!  more »
  • Be sure to go to Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge just north of Titusville. We went south to Merritt island which added about an hour to the trip once we figured out that Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge ...  more »
  • This drive is a must do if you enjoy wildlife, especially birds. It takes a couple hours to do the 7 miles, but is worth the time. FYI, the road is gravel so it can get a little dusty.  more »

  • We really enjoyed this drive! We wish we could have seen more nature but I think due to time of day and weather most of the animals were not around. Also, I am sure the wildlife would be much better here during the migratory season! Either way the drive was still wonderful! There were a few small trails with observation decks/observation tower that we really enjoyed. The scenery was beautiful even without seeing birds and animals. It was nice to see different types of lands (swamps, meadows, pinewood flats, etc.)
  • Absolutely the best Wildlife experience we had in Florida. Wonderful drive and we saw over 20 species of water birds. There are signs clearly marking when it's a point you should see birds which made it very easy to spot so many beautiful birds. The drive is about 30-45 mins if you go right through and there are little side pull off spots so you can get out of your car and observe. Totally recommend this drive as a must do when visiting the area.
  • Our absolute favorite nature and wildlife drive. If you love nature , birding and/or photographing them, this is the place for you. It is a one-way gravel road drive and when people drive the posted under 5 mph the dust levels are at a minimum. New or old to Florida, you will see something new every time you come. American Alligators, Reddish Egrets, Great Blue Herons are some of our favorites.
  • Interesting drive through the wildlife refuge
  • Not as famous as national parks but à must see for water birds. Dusk is beautiful there
