  • We spent a few hours hiking around the lake, then relaxed and had lunch near the CCC stone building. Great day. They also have nice caming areas, especially the shelters on the water.  more »
  • I had no idea this park even existed until about a week ago. Very small but as nice as any other state park any where. If your an RV-er you may very well want to make reservations ahead of time to mak...  more »
  • We visited this park on our way to Dinosaur State park . We did not stay overnight. This is a smaller park yet unique. Great views and definitely for people with passion for fishing  more »

  • Good place for a day hike! Trails are clean and well marked for most of the hike. Only downside is that the trails are not very long as you can see by the map. If you are there for walking or running, trails are relatively unpopulated, but the closer you get to the swimming area, the more people are hosting family reunions. Altogether, very nice place for a relaxing summer day.
  • We went camping for 4th of July weekend, a total of 14 people. Stayed at the screened shelters. Not a bad experience. Out of 14 of us, 11 came home with severe diarrhea and vomiting. I say it's in the water, because the 3 people that didn't go in the water, didn't get sick. Be aware.....
  • Park is about 20 miles West of Lake Whitney, and NW of Waco, TX. Park is small with a very laid back atmosphere. 15 Electric/Water sites, 17 Shelters 6 of them right off the lake, 16 Primitive Camp sites. Fishing with "no wake" rules. Hiking trails are very well marked (look for color coded paint on trail trees.) You can hike all the trails and still be back for lunch. Biking trails are easy, also a paved road goes all the way around the lake for those who want to stay on pavement.
  • Very peaceful park, it's small but wasn't crowded at all. We stayed in the only cabin which is #9 on the park map. It has beds and a beautiful table inside. The outdoor area is spacious and private with a picnic table and 2 bbq areas. The cabin is near the RV area so we never had to wait for a shower or the restrooms. The park rangers are nice and don't come around bothering you. We fished, hiked and biked. The trails are well marked and easy to navigate. There's a grocery store 10 minutes away. This park is a beautiful piece of Texas Heaven!!
  • Smaller park with no playground but it's very quiet and peaceful. Beautiful nature trails, lots of lightening bugs, very nice screen shelters, lovely lake. Our kids loved the place.
