Menemsha Public Beach, Menemsha

4.6
#3 of 12 in Beaches in Martha's Vineyard
Beach Nature / Park
Set within a charming fishing village, Menemsha Public Beach offers some of the best things on the island: seafood, gentle surf, and sunsets. The pebbly beach can be a little hard on tender feet, but the uncrowded atmosphere and serene vistas at this beach make it a perennial favorite. Try the clams at the New England clam shack, or head to one of the other nearby restaurants for other seafood dishes, including lobster and oysters. The vistas from this north-facing spot include the Elizabeth Islands and Cuttyhunk, and word has it this is the best sunset in town. Limited parking ensures plenty of beach space for visitors. • Beach is rocky and not the greatest swimming beach. But fun for kids to explore to catch crabs and small fish with their nets. The sunsets are breath taking .  more »
  • Come very early when coming over to see the sunset. There is limited parking, and very often it is impossible to find a parking spot.  more »
