Family-owned Southwick's Zoo houses over 100 different species of animals. The 120 hectare (300 acre) Southwick homestead was a dairy farm when the family began collecting exotic poultry and other birds. In 1963 the family opened the zoo, and it has since expanded with a chimpanzee exhibit and skyfari ride. Enjoy a 15-minute ride above the zoo to get a bird's-eye view of the exhibits housing sika deer, chimpanzees, elk, and cheetahs. Visit the deer forest for a chance to pet and feed the deer. Southwick's Zoo Reviews

Brought my two daughters (3 and 6), they enjoyed feeding the deer and the goats. There were a few rides for them, but check height requirements. There is plenty of shade and some misting tents to help stay cool. There are picnic tables so you can relax and eat. It may seem pricey but for a day of fun, I thought it was worth it.
I am a Member of this Zoo so I may sound biased but I became a member after attending Earth Bash, their annual event. The deer forest is delightful and I have spent many hours there. The zoo is situated far back from highways and set into the woods. They recently opened a proper restaurant on premises that serves decent food that is open year round overlooking the zoo. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Took my 6 yr old niece. She loved it and was tired by the end. There's lots of walking so wear comfy supportive shoes. Tons of monkeys to see, lions, Tigers, Leopard, giraffes, zebras, etc. Interactive exhibits with deer and birds. There are small, but fun amusement rides for the kids also. Would definitely go again.
Best zoo I've ever been too. Tons of happy and fun animals in a great layout. There are fun attractions and rides and things as well like a cable-car seat which travels throughout the park and a forest to feed deer. Love it here!
Pricing wasn't bad. Half off for dad's on Father's Day. Good amount of pets. Not overly crowed. Best part was the deer park. You got to feed the deers and touch them. Bring quarters, it's definitely an experience!
