  • Very nice for a walk on the edge of the Mississippi River that is perhaps the most emblematic of the river USES. Very nice sunset.

  • Very close to the bottom of Beale Street,, so easy to include in our walks around the more famous areas. Glad we did. The river is always interesting. And we parked here when on the river cruise too.  more »

  • Terrific Outdoor Moments Lee Park: SSWF, this is a great place to enjoy the outdoors and the gorgeous MS River. This isn't just a park, it is a place for opportunities. Opportunities to mix and mingle with other outdoor minded people and to make new acquaintances during the many events held at the location. The breathtaking view of the river alone is a great reason to visit it but there's more: outdoor picnicking, walking/run trail, sight-seeing, and the sponsored events held at the park, i.e. the Memphis in May Music Festival in the summer, the Independence Day Celebration fireworks...and so much more! For me on this day it was a chance to capture the beautiful winter sunset and enjoy the back drop and sounds of the river waves softly slapping up against the banks...don't let the weather be a deal breaker for you...enjoy the outdoors but bundle up as you walk, run or sightseeing!
  • This area doesn't have quite as much shade as Mud Island, but the view of downtown from the river is great. A bridge across the Mississippi is nearby and another to Mud Island is available for a fee. There's always river traffic to watch and a circuit workout available for the active. Free parking is available and it's a quick escape from the city.
  • A beautiful park with a walking trail along the Mississippi river and a few seating areas including tables. A few garbage cans make it a great place for picnics. Lovely views and a decent sized parking area.
  • Great for Families, Couples and Singles. Nice that back for jogging, walking and biking. Absolutely Beautiful view of the mighty Mississippi River, the Pyramid shaped Bass Pro Shops and a partial view of the city skyline. Purchase a Riverboat Cruise. Sit and Socialize at the indoor/outdoor Bar while listening to occasional live Music. Take a walk across the top of the Building via a grassy knoll. Watch the children play in the lovely Children's Area (complete with sprinklers). Or just sit in a red rocking chair and take it all in.
  • Great view of the Mississippi River from this Park in Memphis. It's also the site of the World Championship Barbeque Coming Contest during the Memphis in May festivities. Visitors to this event can buy tickets to see the elaborate booths of the contest events and taste barbeque from vendors with additional purchase or ticket packages. Well worth the visit when in Memphis.
