  • We visited the mud Island River Park in June 2016. It was very hot which is why rather little people on the peninsula were on this day. The Park is very nicely done. The Mississippi has impressed us relief. You can learn a lot about the river and its history. The Museum is very nice and decorated with many details. All over the island, we have encountered only staff which are helpful and like to give information. For a few quiet hours in Memphis, we can only recommend a visit.

  • whole length of the park is the path of the Mississippi River from it's start. Historical events posted at sites. Kids can wade in the "river" Wonderful museum with a riverboat you can walk around on....  more »
  • Mud Island is totally worth the time. It is historical and cultural. On top of that the kids will LOVE the man-made concrete river that runs the entire length of the island.  more »

  • The river walk is fine. its pretty cool to see a scale model of a river that flows much like the real thing. SKIP the paid part, at the time of writing this their monorail is not functioning and parts of the museum are under construction or closed. The gift shop is a joke and the entire place feels run down. Despite major closures no discount will be offered.
  • I was there for a deaf event. Nice area, educational. Fun to ride the monorail. Got to see a great view of the Mississippi River.
  • This is always a fun park to visit. The museum is really interesting and the old steam boat replica is fun to walk through.
  • My daughter worked here and was forcibly grabbed by another teenage employee by the arm who accused her of stealing. The manager and assistant manager shrugged it off even after I spoke with them and did not repremand the young man at all. If it were not for some of the older women working there who watched out for her I would have had her quit immediately. Management needs to be overhauled or retrained...PERIOD!
  • Great outdoor park for the family to enioy. If you are a history buff, this is a must-see in Memphis with tons of local and Mississippi River history. The flowing topographical map of the river is great for "wading" or "walking" the river. There is a monorail but the footbridge has great views and isn't long. The main building hosts a deli and the museum. There is a concession stand with restrooms at the end (I.e. the gulf) where you can also rent a paddle boat.
