  • Didn't see the museum but the site of the steam boat brought back memories. If we knew about it we would have surly seen it. In fact it was twice we rode 2 of those paddle wheelers. The 1st was in 198...  more »
  • I am not normally a museum person. Just a bunch of old furniture and pictures on the wall. But here, the story of the Civil War comes to life.  more »
  • The place is very nice. You get to have a nice view of your surrounding and you have a nice time there.  more »

  • A must see if your in Memphis and interested in history. You will learn a lot about the towns and happenings along the Mississippi River through the years. Otherwise not much else here. Take the tram over the river from downtown.
  • An amazing museum. I learned so much there...one of the best museums I have gone to.
  • A really cool display of the true length of the Mississippi. The museum's very informative and there are several places to get food.
  • Great place to bring the kids for a small day trip. Inside the museum there are many exhibits on life on the river, from early settlers to the birth of the blues and rock and roll. Or kids especially love the full scale steamboat and civil war battle ship exhibit. Outside the museum, and free to visit, is a model of the complete Mississippi River system, with running water that you can wade in.
  • This is a cool little museum right on the river. they have a working model of the Mississippi river, that they raise and lower to match the real river. Lots of fun for the kids.
