If you are interested in music then this is worth a visit but I would not call it a must see/do. Free audio guide included but I did find myself skipping large bits. If you are pushed for time, there ... read more »
Lots of info and artefacts explaining the role of Memphis and its stars in the development of music.
Heel interessant museum waarin je stapsgewijs door de tijd wordt geleidt van de blues en de soul muziek. Veel interviews en muziekVery interesting museum in which you step by step through the time runs from the blues and soul music. Many interviews and musicshow original
Here you get to learn about the rock and roll music and Soul music. I was very impressed by the items that they have on display. When you start the tour they show a 12 minute movie and they also provide an audio device that you can listen to the history of the items on display. Just enter the number that they show by the item and it will tell you the history of that item. There is lots to see here, so plan to spend at least an hour or so here, but you get to learn how rock and roll and soul music was started. A must stop if you are in Memphis, Tn
Great museum for Memphis music and history! Movie at the start (don't miss it) and then everything is at your own pace. If you read everything, listened to all the audio clips, and listened to half the songs.. This museum would take about 3 hours to go through. Pretty long but great info and music. Good info (kinda short though because it's only in one room) on Sam Phillips, Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, and BB King. A must stop for any Rock 'n' Roll or Blues fan visiting Memphis!
Only went here as I was waiting for the tour at Gibson to start across the street. Good tour, cool stuff inside, but if you have to choose id go to Gibson and Sun Studios first. Still, well done and great staff :)
The Memphis Rock n Soul Museum is not bad. For the price of admission, I expected more exhibits than what's there. The audio tour is cool and the music is good.
Basically self guided, I personally found that this was interesting but if you've already gone to the other museums, the Sun studio tour, elvis presley mansion, this seemed a little boring.
