  • Posting as a RV camper in the middle of winter so consider that perspective on the rating. It had tons of space to choose from which is great. It also had plenty of room to roam around and enjoy being outdoors. I imagine it's fun to play by the creek when it's warmer. It also has lots of interesting stuff to discover about the history. But the big drawback is the number of permanent residents in the campground of a state park? There are numerous long time residents camped out there and treating it like they own it (and not well I mean). The park obviously is allowing campers to stay for months and months and months or more at a time and set up a home like an old trailer park.
  • This place is beautiful! I love the history here with the museum and the furnaces. I came for the archery event but loved the whole park.
  • The history of the South is a dramatic story. Almost everyone has heard of the Civil War. There are those that want to make it all about one issue and they would be wrong. But, Tannehill is a place to come and experience that history first hand. This Ironworks was built during the Civil War to manufacture arms for the South. During the summer months, reinactors stage a battle or two. What is really amazing is that the camp out and everything is a replica of all equipment from 1860s. It is fascinating to walk through a Confederate camp and then through a Union camp. Y'all come!
  • We didn't get to stay long but from what we saw, this place is full of history and even the kids enjoy it. We plan to return.
  • Loved it. Definitely great place to sit by the creek and enjoy the rustling water. Kids loved the wide open area. Need to bring more water on the Iron Road trail.
