  • On the way to our hotel, we decided to stop and do a tasting. A tasting was already in progress so we joined in. The server was very knowledgeable, helpful and personable. The product is excellent, so...  read more »
  • We were driving home from DC to Louisville, KY and it just so happened we came across this hidden gem right off the interstate. The bar area is very nice where they allow you to sample all the spirits...  read more »
  • Really enjoyed the tasting. Val really knows her stuff! The 7 year and Yearling are the best! Do not miss this place. Not available in stores.
  • Wonderful place to visit. Great selection of spirits to buy. Tastings held daily and tours of the faculties. Wonderful staff with all the answers to ur questions.
  • We stopped here on our way home and what a great stop it was. The service was great (free samples!). We purchased one of their whiskey's and a bottle of gin. The gin is great! Highly recommend stopping.
  • We arrived shortly after 12 and were welcomed with open arms. We met Val and Johnny instantly and they were just amazing. They hadn't started the tour yet and made us feel incredibly welcome. We sipped a few bourbons, vodka and gin and the toured the grounds. This is an amazing distillery with only 11 folks working. They are a small distillery but we should all keep our eye out for them by they are about to be a big deal. They make an absolutely exceptional bourbon both 7 and 10 yr were my favorite. And that vodka! Oh my goodness! We stayed a lot longer than most ppl and they completely welcomed us hanging around and talking. I can not wait to comeback and visit especially now that I know Val is a fellow NYer! GET THERE NOW!
  • We always try to check out local distilleries and breweries when we are on a trip. I have to say this one was in my top 10 for a few reasons. First off it is a super laid back place. So if you are one of those go with the flow kind of people you will enjoy this, but if you are anyway high maintenance you may get a little frustrated. Don't worry have drink and relax! Secondly let's start off with the Moonshine shall we!? For those who are familiar with moonshine you know it has a bite. I'm sorry did I say bite I meant kick in the ass, but this a pretty smooth moonshine. Moving on to the vodka, this was amazing. I am not a vodka drinker but this blew me away! From the smoothness through the hints of vanilla it is one a kind. I'm not gonna talk about the Bourbon and Whiskeys for three reasons. One, that's what they specialize in, two, there is a lot to learn about the products the offer and three, that's what your going there for anyway. Finally, here is the shocker my favorite part was the bourbon filled chocolate truffles they introduce you to during the tasting! It was like everything good and wonderful in life packed into a half an inch chocolate caramel ball. Omg!!! Anyways from the relaxed atmosphere, to the great beverages and chocolate, and finishing it off with some unexpected things in the gift shop you can't go wrong at this distillery!
  • I called a week before arriving and spoke with a woman about their tours. She said they had one at noon and one at two and they take around an hour or so depending on questions. We first went to Organ Cave for their walking tour and it ran over around 10 minutes since there was an older couple who needed a lot of breaks. We called the distillery to get directions since the address would not show up in our gps. The girl could not give directions and sounded like she was drunk. We went back into Organ Cave gift shop and they gave us directions. We showed up at 12:05pm. I stood in their tasting room for around 5 minutes while the employee was talking to a couple and the other employee was standing in front of the cash register. Neither said anything to me and I had to approach them when the couple left. I asked her if we could join the noon tour. She then proceeded to tell me it was cancelled 5 minutes after noon but if she could of stopped her personal conversation long enough to ask me how she could help me then she would of known we were waiting for the tour. I left and my husband spoke with her. He said with there being two of us couldn't we get done with the tour faster than normal and she told him that if they don't start at noon it will run into the 2 o'clock tour. The parking lot was empty at this point and she was just using this as an excuse. My husband asked her if it was her just being lazy and didn't want to give the tour. She then told him to leave and she didn't want to give him a tour. The place is no bigger than a barn and would of taken 30 minutes max to do the tour. The employee then proceeded back into the tasting room were she and the other woman started drinking. I will never be back and waste my time again. I had expected to take the tour and then sit down in the tasting room and buy anything my husband wanted so they really missed out and I will never buy a smooth ambler product because of how horrible they acted. Don't waste your time or money here. Thankfully we went to Kirkwood Winery and Distillery and they made up for the horrible experience we had here.
