Inspirock Rating:
4.4/5 based on 500+ reviews on the web
You won't have to worry whether there's enough room for your umbrella at Makena Beach. Also known as Big Beach, it's nearly 1.5 km (1 mi) long and the largest beach in Maui. You can enjoy shade from the large volcanic cliffs, which also offer protection from tradewinds. Book a snorkeling or kayak tour to get an up-close look at some of the sea life. It's a good idea to go out with a guide, because the water can get rough Remember to bring drinking water and sunscreen. • This was one of the most beautiful beaches we saw on Maui but we couldn't go in the water. Red flag day :(
  • Amazing Beach. Highly recommend walking this beach at sunset! Perfect Sunsets. Great to spend the day relaxing, as well.
  • Really cool beach- not really a cove so if it's windy there's better beaches- but a great view and close to Kihei and the boogie hotels which is nice if you like that... I do!
