  • We stopped in on our LI wine tour. Got a chance to meet one of the owners. He is an accomplished chef as well as a vintner. Took the time to explain the history of how he ended up on Long Island and s...  read more »
  • We have visited Shinn Estate twice now. We found improvement in the wines from the first time we went. The wines are just ok. They lack the depth of some of the other wineries on the North Fork. The t...  read more »

  • We stop every year on our way from CT to Montauk. Wonderful Cabernet Franc's. Their Mojo is a unique unaged Cab Franc--lovely wine at a good price. A bit off the track but worth going to--good selection of serious wines.
  • We went through a wooden gate with a sign that said "Welcome" on the outside, and "Thank you" in the inside. They had nice tasting patio, with nice amount of outdoor seating, surrounded by lots of flowers. They had cute signs with inspirational (or kind of funny) words on wooden signs all over, such as "soulful," "honest," "peace," and so on. It was a nice little touch to make this place a bit more homey and cozy. They also had indoor tasting room, with lots of wood and again, cute signs of inspirational words. On a cold day or rainy day, this room will come in handy. We did the white and red wine "flight" of 4 wines for $14. It included Coalescence, Rosé, Estate Merlot, and Wild Boar Doe. They were nice wines, but didn't find any wine that we really loved, so we didn't buy any bottle from this place. The staff who gave us the tasting was not very friendly, and a bit the way that she was not really interested in providing tastings. We didn't get much information on the wines that we were drinking, other than the name of the wines. It seemed as if she just wanted to rush through them. The owner was there, greeting some selective customers. We got to talk to her right when we were leaving, but I didn't feel a warm, welcoming vibe. Maybe because we didn't buy any wine. • This is far and away my favorite winery. I love the owners and staff, their wines are excellent, it's small and cozy, friendly, and a lovely place to visit.
  • Excellent service and wonderful wine. Try the apple brandy, it's amazing.
  • The place is super tiny compare to all others region vineyards with no sense of greenery or nice outlook. It's a tiny bar surrounded by walls. And they don't allow kids under 5. Won't go there again.
